Olympic Rings
For the second part of this series, I’m going to show you how to make a set of large rings that you can hang from your ceiling or walls. It makes for a great statement piece, one that your guests will definitely notice!
You’ll need:
1. 5 pieces of poster board ($1.00 each at hobby lobby. Look for sales, I got mine for 50 cents each.)
2. Scissors
3. Pizza pan or another large circular object (I also contemplated on using a large sun hat)
4. Smaller circular object such as a mixing bowel
5. Glue gun
6. Fishing line
7. Gold spray paint
8. Marker or pen
Step 1
Using your pizza pan, trace out a large circle on your poster board. Next, place your smaller circular object in the middle of your large circle. I just eyed this but you could use a ruler to be more exact. Once you’ve got it lined up correctly, trace your smaller circle.
Step 3
Cut out your circles, so that your left with a ring.
Step 4
Once you’ve created 5 rings, spray paint each side with your gold paint.
Step 5
Once dry, line your rings up so they resemble the Olympic rings.
(Don’t mind the stick, I actually created a smaller version to use as glasses in the photo booth as well. These were a bit easier to photograph.)
Step 6
Once you’ve got them lined up, use generous amounts of hot glue and glue your rings together.
Step 7
Using fishing line, hang them from the ceiling for a great statement piece!
